Poe's Ink ~ DC Christina [20+ photos]

Last week, my dear friend Morla came in a business trip to my city, and she brought half her dollies with her! She was really kind, and lent me her Doll Chateau Christina, named Tinta Negra, so I could sew for her, make patterns for future clothing, and take pictures. This was the first time I ever handled a 1/3 doll, and she was so heavy and big! This post is about all the photos I took of her (Morla saw the photos and approved me to post them here!).

Before the photos, please allow me to talk a little about Tinta Negra, since I'm fascinated by her. The name means "Black Ink", and she is supposed to be a raven made of the ink that was left on Edgar A. Poe's inkwell after he died, representing all the stories that could have been, and that he never wrote. As a consequence, Tinta is covered in Poe's writings and ink spots. You can check here (using the listening button) how it is pronounced.

Also, before the photos, all the blushing (the writing and the ink spots) were made by Morla, as well as her faceup. The wig was modded by Morla, too. The clothing she is wearing is hand-sewn by me, and the crochet top made by my mom. Anyways, onto the photos!

Tons of photos under the cut!

I know her face was a little blurry in that picture, but sadly I didn't get anything better from that angle =S. That is the top my mom made for Tinta :3 Love it! Also, I love the ink spot at her back, because it looks like tiny wings!

I know this is the same pose as before, but I love those hands. They are completely amazing! Also, have you noticed her wig has feathers and metal parts?

I apologize that some photos are repetitive, but it was a one-of-a-kind opportunity, so I took and edit as many photos as possible. Sadly, some of the full-body photos were blurry T_T I really need to get a tripod.
I'm amazed at the work she did with the ink spots and the writing. Each of the spots is glossed on top. Hands down, she has my complete admiration of this blushing. Plus, those jointed feet!

She has some rare joints, but when I got used to them and how they work, I realized she poses so well! She can even stand with her legs crossed, but the pictures came out so out-of-focus =S Standing Tinta on her knees was also fairly easy.

The next one is a personal favorite, because I love how through the fabric you can read something similar to "here lives Poe.". I think it is really poetic, and it was really fun to try and photograph her writings.

And the last one. "Nevermore".

Anyways, I don't have enough ways to thank Morla for allowing me to have Tinta with me for a couple days, plus sew for her and take photos! And also, thanks for bearing with me with so many photos!
Finally... I have Instagram now!  Feel free to follow me for tons of wips, dolls, cats, and maybe gaming screenies. I have set up an IFTTT recipe to post those things on Tumblr and Twitter as well. Couldn't resist to spam my Twiter more. Hahahaha.

    1. Thank you so much!!
That black and white polkadot was the only background I could use for her size, and it broke after I took the photos T_T
But I'm really happy with them, and the background for Tinta is amazing, indeed!
