Professor Merry ~ Short Story

Sometime ago, I shared the story of how Merry got he dreamcatcher she has (here). Many told me about her future research to find out what it was, as human and fairy cultures are really different. So, after a little, here it is! There is a short text, instead of a photostory, because I wanted to share more than simply dialog. Hope you will enjoy it!

Researching

After getting the knitted circle with feathers, Merry had one of the busiest weeks of her fairy life. Easter always made children eat too much, and then they milk teeth would fall faster, and tooth fairies like her ended up having to do extra hours to fetch the teeth and deliver the coins. But, after that, she had some free days all for her own.

She went to the Settlement’s Library, asked the librarian and fetched some scrolls, in order to spend a couple days doing her research on the comfort of her tree-house. And soon, she found out that the lacy circle was called a dreamcatcher and was made by some humans addressed as “Native Americans”. She was familiarized with the divisions humans had -all strange to Merry-, but she decided to check in with her map of human territory to see if the girl could have been one of them. After some positioning, the zone established by the book, matched the girl’s house location.

That little finding skyrocketed her enthusiasm, and after a day of reading and taking notes, Merry understood a little more about this culture. The dreamcatcher was a symbol of protection, but also of unity of different people and nations. She had put it on top of a shelf, but decided to move it to her bed, to guard her on her sleep.

After that, Merry was sure she had never rested so safe and happy.

And that was all for today!! Poor Merry, she knows nothing about humans, hahaha! I do hope you have enjoyed this, and thank you for the interest shown in my dolls' story: it means a lot! Have a great weekend, everyone! :D
