I did this dress one or two weeks ago, but didn't had time to take decent pictures, nor the right light (remember that I broke one of my lamps? Still don't get a new one). Anyways, this is the first truly elaborate dress that I make for Calina, and I must say that I loved doing it. I learned so much, plus it was really nice to work with different fabrics.
Also, I want to be honest and confess that the main idea was from the Misty Cobatl Blue Set of Iplehouse, that i for KID/BID size. I did lots of changes, plus the embroidered white skirt is drape'd just like the hanbok skirt.
This dress has an underwear, petticoat, double layered skirt, corset and neck ribbon :3.
I'm sorry if some of the photos were repetitive, I took 200+ and it was really difficult to pic only the best and not get similar poses in different angles.
Anyways, as an anecdote, I wanted to share that when I was looking for a name for this dress I found out that this length type is called tea-length, what I found pretty cute. I thought of naming it "Tea" but this has nothing to do with beige tones, so I went for a simple "Lace & Ribbons"... after all, you have no idea how much meters of laces I ended up sewing.
As always, this is fully sewn by hand, and it took me around 2 weeks and a half to get it done.
Ahhh this dress is so pretty! I'm a huge fan of the floral fabric you chose!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!!! :D It is really different from what I usually make, but I really like.
DeleteI really loved that fabric, hubby bought it for me on our last year holidays.
Very pretty!! I can't believe you can manage using artificial so well (are these pics also artificial light). I'm so bad at it!
ReplyDeleteAnyways, the dress is gorgeous and it fits Calina's sweet face so well!
Thanks!! This pics are half natural/half artificial. I only had incoming natural light for one side, and had to put my lamps on the other one. The one that was pure artificial lamps was the one of the glitter dress... when I broke one of my lamps T_T
DeleteSo happy you like it! I really love how it suits her, I think she needs more lacey/ribbons on her clothing xD
I respect your attention to little details, like the double ribbons and all thoselittle beads. A nice dress and suits the dol well!
ReplyDeleteOh my god, thanks!! :D You are really kind :3
