Jamenk, the Modern Shaman [Lumedoll Tyl]

You have already met Jamenk on the comparison post with my Withdoll girl, but here is a post about him! His owner is my dear friend Morla (who also owns Tinta Negra).

Regarding Jamenk's background story, Morla told me that she has "a very abstract idea about Jamenk" (which after some laughs translated to almost no written story), but here is what she knows about him! Jamenk is a shaman, from a possible never-existent tribe, who lives on the world of the untold story, along with all her other dolls.

He may even represent a culture that never was! Anyways, she did all the tattoos on his body and face, and she also made the wig, which is handmade by raveled silk thread in order to achieve that sort of thin-braids look. She even sculpted the skulls on the head piece!

Anyways, I knew her birthday was close to the date she was coming to my city for work, so I asked if she wanted doll clothes as a present, and if she wanted anything in particular (we have been exchanging dolly birthday gift even before I got Coco!). Morla told me she wanted modern clothes for Jamenk, so here I am! I rush-sewed this in two days, by hand, and I must say I'm quite pleased with the result.

Here is a picture, and more rambling after the cut, because I have some very funny anecdotes xD

One of the funniest things was when I got home with the dolls. I took Jamenk out and the hubby came immediately to check him up with me... and then attempted to instruct me on how to pose a male doll, because I was only able to do Coco-esque poses, and Jamenk looked like if he was attempting to mimic Coco! We laughed so much with this! After like twenty minutes of attempting things, this pic on Instagram had the only decent pose I managed, and my hubby said "well... maybe... almost..." xD

Another funny thing was discovering that Lumedoll body is more anatomically correct than expected!! Hahaha! I laugh even when writing this! It was like "oh!... OH!!" for both of us, hahaha. The things that happens for not having male dolls xD

Anyways, here are more clothing pics, where you can see by yourself that I cannot pose a male doll to save my life. I have no idea what to do with them!!

Poor gent, he looks so uncomfortable on these clothes on some photos! Like if he is wearing his headband only to have something he knows close by! But my friend liked the clothes so I'm happy!!!

Finally poor Jamenk was able to get rid off that pesky necktie, and here you can see that it was like a real human tie! I was careful and printed a how-to-tie instructions, and packed it with the gift, because I wasn't sure my friend would know how to tie it! I seldom tie a tie, so I know I need them, hahaha!

Well, another thing that I wanted to share, is that my friend -a Supernatural fan- recently got two MoDoll heads: Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins, to make them as Dean and Castiel! She wants -as far as I know- a Ringdoll body and a Impldoll body for them, but she needs to save until she can buy them.

However, she commissioned my mom for a hat for Castiel doll and gave us a reference of Misha Collins wearing a funny hat! So here it is the reference photo, and the outcome in doll size!

Anyways, I want to thank Morla once again for allowing me to sew for Jamenk and the photo for Castiel! It was an amazing time, to be honest! This was the last post with guest dolls, so next one will probably go back to my regular crew! My enabler friends have been tempting me to get a new doll... saving in progress anyways!

Hope you are doing great, and see you in the next post! Also, I know I said this a lot, but remember the Etsy event!

    1. Thank you!! Yes, I always sew by hand, but when I started I was really slow; with time I've been able to do it faster, but I had to stay up until very late to finish this on so few days!
      Happy you like them :D

  4. Oh, look at him - such a handsome one! Great work! I often use a sewing machine, but the small things are really hard and those I sew by hand. My poor finger tops get the worst of the needle at some points. But I enjoy sewing, knitting, crocheting....
