Comparison: Lumedoll and Withdoll

This week I had the luck that my dear friend Morla came for work to my city (second time in the year!) and she brought several of her dollies. I asked if this time she would allow me to take some comparison shots of her Lumedoll Tyl (Tan skin, from 2013, named Jamenk) with my Withdoll Rachel (Coco), because I think it will be interesting, and I was curious to see the proportions myself.

I have also done an interview with Lumedoll in 2013! Anyways, the comparisons are not censored. I did post censored version on some social sites like Tumblr and Flickr, because I didn't want the pics reported.

Anyways, here is a wigless head comparison, and body shots are under the cut. Also, please remember to check our winter event at Etsy!

Here are more head comparisons, with wig, from the front and the side. I will talk about Jamenk in a future post, I did modern clothes for him! Also, as important info, Tyl wears 6mm eyes, and Rachel is using 11mm Eyecos.

As a personal note, while the front head size difference is acceptable (to me), I find the profile difference really annoying. While the Rachel sculpt has a prominent profile, Tyl has almost flat features, and I find it too contrasting for my personal taste. Proportion wise, and body-wise, they look great, though:

Anyways, excuse the lack of head-cap on the Lumedoll Tyl, but my friend used it as a scalp to do the wig, and I didn't wanted to break anything, so I just took the head-cap off. Anyways, I think that the contour can be easily drawn with Photoshop, in case anyone needs it.

I'm going to post this on DoA too, hoping that somebody finds it useful! Anyways, remember to check our Etsy, and hope you all had a nice day!

If you have questions about the comparison, let me know and I'll do my best to answer!

  1. Ineteresting comparison. I've had a Lumedoll Tyl in my hands too, and it's such a cute boy. His tan looks so light. I didn't even realise it was tan until you said it.

    1. He is so cute! The tan is really light, to be honest, I agree with you... but Lumedoll does have darker tans, this is like just an intermediate color.

    2. I think it's a pretty colour, I was just surprised xD It's awesome when companies offer different kinds of tan!

  2. Interesting comparison - Tyl really towers over your girl. I have a Lumedoll Atik and a Withdoll Aiden, and they're almost exactly the same height - I hadn't realized that the Withdoll girls were so much shorter than the boys. That's good to know!

    1. Atik is a gorgeous sculpt too! Yes, Withdoll girls tend to be shorter, even among other mini girls!
Happy you found the comparison interesting!

  3. I always thought he was a darker normal skin :o!!! that tan is even lighter than my Lucas' ! I love the proportion next to Coco, though I wish he had a bit more ass XD I don't mind his face being a bit flat though, I think He's a lovely sculpt!

    1. Hahahaha! But you are right, he is flat on the back too, hahaha!
I like how they look together, but the profile does annoy me when together, sadly =S

  4. Great comparison! It's interesting to see how different tan skin some companies have, I would've thought that is a dark normal skin but not tan D: Also interesting how small eyes Tyl has!

And yes, Tyl does have such small eyes! I'm not sure about the other sculpts, though.

  7. Comparisons are really nice. There are differences you sometimes don't think about. I might do one of these as well. I know I can think of some ways mine differ. I also seem to find many sculpts have larger heads on smaller molds. It's interesting, the variations. :)
