Calina Little Witch

Well, I have been wanting to do this outfit for Calina for a long time! My mom has a collection of small witches and owls, and I have always gifted her more for her collection (I even made two of those witches!) and because Halloween is also close I said... why not make a cute witch outfit for Calina? Perfect idea! (Calina is my mom's in case somebody didn't knew).

Anyways, I got a special fabric on black and white, and decided to do a very detailed dress. There are a lot of ribbons with beads, lacing on the edges, and I even made the tiny owls with cold porcelain! I suck at sculpting, completely suck, but I did my best. I gave up trying to make perfect white circles on cold porcelain, so I ended up painting the eyes xD I also did the broom what is a witch without a broom? with a small branch I got on a nearby square.

I originally wanted to make a small nest with the two owls on her hat, but after several attempts with the nest looking tedious (thankfully they were test, and I hadn't glued anything), I decided that the best was to put the owls alone.

In here, I got the idea for a small story of the owls hiding and Calina looking for them and then she finds them and scares them with her broom xD Also, silly excuse to show the ribbon on her back, and try to play with perspective and DoF. The hat also has a small ribbon on the back!

Here are some that show the broom, since I realized later that I hadn't photographed the bottom part of the broom, considering it was hard to make!

And some more of those pesky teeny tiny owls giving her a hard time xD

Well, this was all! I really enjoyed doing this dress, although it took me two weeks, and some heavy annoyed time at the cold porcelain that did what my hands sculpted and not what I really wanted! xD I have also thought on making a cooking pot or something for Calina, but as I said, the porcelain was not collaborating.

Anyways, are you doing anything for Halloween with your dolls? I'm going to do a Halloween-themed BJD meme next week, so prepare to be tagged, because I plan on tagging a lot of people! xD

  2. Precioso el vestido, un grandioso trabajo, muy detallado. Calina está preciosa y los búhos son adorables, me encantó el detalle con las cintas. Es una obra maestra ese vestido. Realmente tienes un don para la costura. Te felicito.

  7. How cute! <3 I wish I can sew. ;-; The only thing I can hand-make for my dolls is knitted scarf/ face up....Lol. Can't wait what Halloween related memes you planned for next week! I'm doing a photo shoot for my dolls for Halloween and that's about it... Maybe one day when I learn how to sew, I could make them costumes.
