A Tiny Dollhouse

Well, I had this want of sewing something loli, full of ribbons and laces and what-not, so I asked my mom if she wanted a new dress for Calina, since she loves to put her on that style. Once I had the dress, I started trying things with the new lens... which did not work at all. Until I found this tiny dollhouse, which was a present from a friend.

So have a cute Calina here, and more rambles and anecdotes under the cut!

Funny thing is that I have wanted to make that headband for so long, but I did not knew how to make it. So I grabbed the same wire I used for the furniture on my Tinies' dollhouse, put a little porcelain on the edges, and covered it with think felt. It looks lovely, though it is not as maleable as purchased headbands!

I love how the photos turned out in the end, because it is like a story. Calina finds the dollhouse, starts playing with it, but then gets hungry and falls asleep while eating some delicious cookies. On her dreams, she goes to a bakery and sees so many yummy desserts, only to wake up and realize why she loved that dollhouse so much. Any guesses?

I know, silly things, but I sort of 'got inspired' while doing these photos. I'm still trying to get used to the new lens. The potted pine (in the background) does some very cute bokeh, but when I tried my xmas lights they were horrid as always. Any hints? Maybe the lights are of too low quality to be used for bokeh =S Anyways, have a great weekend!!

  1. Calina's dress is darling and the headband came out great! Maybe instead of putting porcelain on the wire, you might try using wire that is already coated. I get mine at the craft store. It has a shiny green coating. Plastic? Not sure what it is, but the wire can easily be bent to whatever shape you want. No ideas for the bokeh. (I don't think I know what that is.) And of course Calina dreamed of sweets--the little dollhouse is a bakery!

    1. Happy you liked it!!
The headband looked better than I thought, honestly. I know which wire you mean, but I only covered the tips with the porcelain, not the whole wire. In any case, the one you are suggesting is way better, in terms of flexibility!
