AileenDoll Plamodel Pico Dragons Review

First video of the AileenDoll dragons is here!! The complete name is AileenDoll Plamodel Pico Dragons. They are 8cm tall, and are the equivalent to the Pico resin versions of the dragons, though they have some differences. By the time of writing this article, these dragons can be acquired at:
People located on European countries cannot order from the international site, as their orders will be cancelled and refunded. For now (at the time of writing), they have the following dragons available:
  • Pico Violet, in violet plastic, pink plastic and white plastic (this is only available on offline -conventions- events).
  • Pico Ashes, in gray plastic and white plastic.
  • Rot has been anounced but not yet released.
So, the following video is a general review including packaging, mobility, overall differences with resin versions, and a brief comparison with tiny dolls. After the cut, there are also photos of the comparison, just for completion's sake.

Here is the comparison with Merry, who is 16cm tall. Ashes reaches her elbow, but the head size is overall the same; remember that Merry's bun makes her taller than she actually is. However, Kitty Cookie is slightly taller, but her head looks smaller. Anyways, in my opinion they are a good fit, as they all have this "chibi" aesthetic with huge heads.

This was all for today!! I hope you find this useful :D Next video will be about assembly and disassembly, including all my mistakes and ? moments. I don't lie, I recorded 5GB worth of videos during the assembly process, ahahaha! Anyways, did anyone of you already succumbed to this tiny cute dragons?

  1. This is a very interesting video! I brought my resin Pico Ashes to the computer to compare with the Plamodel version. They look very similar, but the range of motion of the resin Ashes is greater. He can turn his head almost all the way around (until the wings get in the way). The leg and foot are all one piece in the resin version. I don't know if you mentioned how the Plamodel wings and legs are attached, but in the resin Ashes they held on by magnets. There is only one jaw piece, which opens and closes. The resin Pico Ashes is very heavy--this makes him sturdy standing up. Can you put glass or acrylic eyes in the Plamodel version, or do you have to use the decals? I look forward to seeing your assembly video. Great work!

    1. Ohh that is a great idea, actually! Maybe we can take similar photos of the picos and then compare them! To answer your questions:

      > The Plamodel wings are attached to the back using a plastic part and, if not modified before inserting them, they are really really hard to remove.

      > The Plamodels are really light weight, but they stand really nice.

      > Violet has only one jaw that opens and closes, but that design was changed for Ashes.

      > You can put any type of eyes on the Plamodels, as long as the abide to some requisites: no more than 10mm in diameter, and being very very flat back. I am preparing a video about eyes as well.

  6. Hello and happy new week to you! Great review and it seems that these pico dragons are rather well made. It is an interesting concept and I am looking forward to seeing more, especially how it was to paint them. I was a bit surprised that the dragons head was so near in size compared to Merry!
