Nyx is Painted!

Okay, this is actually my second faceup ever, since I first painted Aion (my Ashes). However, though I loved him, he didn't look good in photos, so I wiped him out.

Nyx was my second attempt! Before painting her, I tried painting on paper with the pastels I would use for her... just to "know" the materials better. So far, I'm quite happy with the results! She is wearing customs eyes from TalesFromTheShrike (you can read the interview here). The hands seen these photos are my mom's.

And here is a boring photo in which I tried to capture her eyes for an upcoming video. I love this photo, so here it is. But oh well, I promise better photos soon.

What can I say, I never tried to take closeup photos of faceup details, so I'm kind of new to that. I hope to be able to take decent photos, as the light blue she has is barely visible in this photos.

I actually enjoyed both painting processes a lot! I find stressful that supplies run out so fast and that they are so hard to get. I wish everything was like the Tamiya gloss (cheap and long-lasting, hahaha!). I made several mistakes with her, but not nearly as many as with Aion... plus, so far she looks decent in the camera!

Anyways, critiques and thoughts are welcome! I hope to take better close-ups soon :D Have a great week!! :D

  1. You did a great job--congratulations! I can't believe how smooth the color transitions are. I have tried painting a small doll (my Doll Chateau Ada) and had a miserable time getting my pastels to cover completely. And I've used pastels for years! So go ahead and pat yourself on the back for a very professional looking job. One question: Did you use paint for the tiny white dots?

    1. Thank you so much, you are too kind!! Some of the light blue sort of wiped out after sealing. That happened in some places, but oh well.
Yes, the stars are white acrylic, and I also used the same silver acrylic of the nails for some stars, but those are almost invisible on those photos.

  2. I'm absolutely in love with how you painted her. I have a weakness for galaxy themes :P So stunning.
I hope you will be able to repaint Aion soon <3

  4. Maravillosa la pintura que has echo en tu dragoncita!! La cuarta foto en que le ofrece la flor, esta se refleja en el brillo de los ojos, me encantó.
