Cardboard Couch Tutorial

Hey there!! Well, you know me: I've been wanting to have some furniture for my 1/4 dolls, so I finally decided to go ahead and make something! On Instagram, StyledByIko made several couches, so I wanted to do one. I asked her permission to make one and share a tutorial and pattern, and she said yes. So here it is!

The following video contains the instructions on the couch, and I made the pattern in a PDF so you can dowload it. The pattern is not ready to cut! Since the couch is made of cardboard rectangles, the pattern simply shows the measures and quantities I used, and you will need to use those measures to mark the rectangles on the cardboard. It is easy, I promise!

Anyways, there are some photos of Coco enjoying her new couch under the cut!

I still want to make more props: a coffee table, some paintings, and what not. But for now, this is a great start. What do you think?

Okay, and this was all for today! I hope you find this tutorial useful! If you try it, please show me and let me know, as I would love to see your creations. I am considering making a sommier/bed, if I find storage space for it. Would you be interested on another tutorial? Have a great weekend!

  1. Great job on the couch! Making furniture is one thing I haven't attempted. I'll take your word for it that it's easy, but I'm not ready to go there. The few pieces I've bought require considerable storage space. Lacking room for them, I tend to leave pieces lying all over the house. I can't even get a dog or a cat because of all the doll stuff a pet might destroy. I think my hobby is controlling me... :D

  2. I love the couch, very nice and neat job like always. ^__^ I love how you prepared all parts neatly before going to the next part of the job. And the diorama, Coco is such a chic woman. That's definitely a place where to hang out and play some tunes. Loving it. :)
