The Beanstalk? ~ Merry's Beans Adventure

And it is time!! Merry's adventures with the beans have finally led towards this huge moment: the fairies are meeting the dragons!! So, this is a small story, and marks the end of the Merry's Magical Beans story. Thank you for going through this with me, and suggesting me new ideas to continue this story.

So, without further ado, have a photo, and the story is under the cut!

Deceived!

Merry was ecstatic. She had waited for what seemed eons to her, hoping to see the results of her magical beans. She had put effort on gardening, and even more, she had used some fertilizers to speed up the process. She cross her bag’s stripe over her head, and felt as ready as ever, with a smile on her face. However, Cookie was not that excited at all. She was sure Merry had no idea what she was doing, but decided to accompany her, in case the Fairy Dogs –i.e. the fairy police- would be there.

They arrived to the location, but Merry’s smile instantly faded away… while at the same time Cookie breathed with relief. The pot contained a small, thick plant, with razorblade-like edges. It was short, not taller than Cookie or Merry, and it definitely not looked like getting taller at any moment.

“What is this?” asked Merry, disappointed.

“This is some variety of cacti or a succulent” answered Cookie, not sure of what the plant was. Nonetheless, she was sure it was not a beanstalk.

“Why did this happen?” Merry asked again, feeling like if all of her dreams have been crushed in the blink of an eye. Cookie pondered her answers, knowing that almost anything she could say would hurt Merry. It took her a couple minutes of staring the cacti in silent, when she felt a powerful energy surrounding her.

“So you are the thief!” said a voice. However, the place remained in silence as both Cookie and Merry felt it as if talking directly in their heads. Merry was about to move, when she felt her head being softly hit with a rock, thrown to her.

“Hey! I didn’t steal anything!” she said, but when she turned around, she saw two tiny dragons. She covered her mouth almost trying to hide her laugh, as she had thought that dragons were actually as big and scary as humans described them.

“She didn’t do it, Aion!” said another voice. “Look at her eyes, she is telling the truth!”. The violet dragon looked calm. The other dragon looked at the one that just spoke without pronouncing a word, and then at the fairies.

“How did you obtain this?” he asked, and the magical beans appeared in front of him.

“My beans!” Merry replied, but she immediately felt compelled to explain. “A human had this book… and then I…” she doubted, but continued. “I went to the green house to see if any gardener could help me, and I found the beans lying on a desk, near some teal-colored gloves.

“I told you she didn’t do it” said the violet dragon, speaking calmly. “Do you saw the original owner?” she asked, and Merry indicated a ‘no’ with her head. Cookie didn’t knew if she had to feel worried or relieved by that fact.

“Then…” said the gray dragon “If you do not want to be held accountable for stealing these… you will have to find the guilty being!”. And with that, the dragons disappeared leaving two very confused fairies behind.

And this was all for today!! I hope you enjoyed the story and yes... I may have lied: there is still one more chapter on this story, but it will probably be out there during January, hopefully! Here is to hoping you are liking the story.

Do you have any other "myth" or "story" (like Jack and the Magical Beans) that you think Merry could get confused by? If you have, let me know! I really enjoyed doing this! Have a great weak, everyone :D

  1. I'm glad to see there will be another chapter. Maybe by January the cactus will be tall enough for them to climb!

Look forward to the next one.
Jack and the Beanstalk is a classical story, and there are many more in the same category.
Jules Verne has written some great stuff, especially about different worlds.
Gingerbread houses as in Hansel and Gretel, can be one too, just as thoughts...
I think you will figure out new things to write about! You do it so well!!

Ohhh Jules Verne is a great idea, honestly! I need to try that, or Hansel and Gretel!
