Finally Making the Long Modern Hanbok

Which also means... I'm also tackling down the first dress out of my sewing list!! I have a lot to go, but the best thing is that I'm far away of the awful blockade I had some months ago, and I'm really excited to be able to sew this gorgeous dress. Making a fast past-view, I first planned on doing a short modern hanbok in order to get a little more friendly with chiffon. You can see the plans here and the gallery here.

This time, I'm going to do the dress that originally brought my attention to modern hanboks: Sonjjan's Oriental Purpleblue. I also started a Project Journal on DoA, a thing that I have been wanting to do for so long. You can check it here: http://bit.ly/longhanbokdoa

So far, here are the fabrics:

More ramble under the cut!

Cookie also wanted to lay on top of the fabrics, and I couldn't resist:

Anyways, here are some shots of the dress I want to make, linked to the original-human-sized sales page:

So far, I already have the petticoat, but I'm not 100% happy with it... I can't make it open enough as I wanted. Anyways, I will do the lavander skirt, and then decide if they fall as I want, or if the skirts needs more body, and a new -wider- petticoat.

Anyways, I hope this will end up as nice as I want to... I already had to run to a near store to get some threads, because the ones I thought that will do, wouldn't match...

All right, more updates and step-by-step pictures on the DoA's Project Journal :D
