A Kimono Inspired Warrior

Hello! Hope you are doing great! Today I want to share with you another of the dresses I recently made. This was a request from the lovely rain2sunshine on DoA, who asked me to create something similar and inspired on this splash art from League of Legends.

I rushed through this dress because I was on holiday and could sew a lot of time per day! However, since this outfit has a lot of parts and layers, I decided to make a video to show the WIPs, and a little film of my Coco wearing it. It has a voice-over, so be aware that I have an accent. There are both English and Spanish subtitles, you only have to turn them on/off.

More photos are under the cut!

The back ribbon is removable (in order to make the wearing easier) and is inspired on the Bunko used on Yukatas for women. I love how it turned out!

This was all!! I really enjoyed making this dress! Tailoring a kimono-like shape was not easy at all, and I ended up with a couple more new tricks under my sleeve. I love the outfit, and can't wait to see it on her owner! rain2sunshine told me she has a Katana prop to use it with this.

Anyways, hope you are having a great weekend! Both of my dolly birthday present shipped last week, so maybe they can arrive on time? I don't think so, but I will sure have them this month (here is to hope). Do you have any dolly news?

  1. What an adorable dress! Such wonderful details and it really suits her! Love the red color! And tailoring a kimono-like shape that is just a perfect fit to the dolls body can be a bit tricky. Tried one and even with a pattern, I missed some things and of course one can see it as a lesson learned.
Not so much dolly news over here, got some Funko Pop and a tiny Animators doll.....

    1. Thank you so much!!! Yes, tailoring the kimono-like shape was tricky, mostly because I wanted to keep the feeling of a kimono.
Well, congrats on those dolls too!! :D

  4. LOVE this dress! The color is great and you did a beautiful job of tailoring. I'll be surprised if Coco doesn't ask you for one of her own.

My dolly news is that WithDoll Elf Knight Egon should be here Monday. I've finished his outfit and can't wait to see him in it. I've also finished the outfit for Elf Hunter Ruby, but she probably has a few more weeks before she ships.
