Summer Calina

Well, what can I say, I'm starting this year very productive! I had a very specific idea for a dress for Calina, so I managed to make it happen before Venezia arrived! Although I delayed on taking the photos and then on sharing them, because packages arrived :D

My mom has also been teaching me how to crochet, so that colorful vest you see here... is made by me! Boots were done by my mom, my skills are nowhere near hers, though. Overall I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!

Also, I had my hubby help and managed to go to a roof to take this photos! I'm sort of tired of the usual "backdrop with a doll in a random pose" thing, so I tried something different. Picture me wiping the floor with my rear and striking ridiculous poses to get the perfect angle for the shot. Anything for a good photo, right? xD

Anyways, here is Calina!

I know these are just four simple photos, but I got several too blurry for my tastes, or I didn't like them as part of the "set" when editing them. However, I'm proud of myself! It wasn't public, it was a roof after all, but oh well... this vest counts towards one of my resolutions, hahaha!

Anyways, how are you doing? Any ongoing dolly projects to share? Don't forget to check last Saturday's interview, with SartoriaJ!

  1. Just love these photos of Calina and it made me long for summer. I think it is so much easier to just go in the summer time to take photos. And look kinda' silly when trying to take good photos. :D Adore the vest, so bright colors! You did a great work, so keep on crocheting!
Well, I am doing just fine but a bit tired. Schools back after Christmas vacation and it takes some days to get on track, for those two teenagers at home. A lot of planning and so on.
Dolly wise I have been thinking of making something new, clothes that is, for Esther and Zipporah and even for my one and only Barbie. See how that goes! :)

Happy you like the vest, I'm so happy with how it turned out!
Hope to see the new clothes for your dolls, then! And good luck with the school and getting back on track again!

  2. Hi Musume,
The first think that struck me when I arrived was the the little crochet top, I love it, well done ol' girl. It goes well with the dress, actually the outfit just screams summer sunshine!! Your mother did a great job of the boots too!

I've been in a knitting mood for weeks, which is strange for me in summer, but never the less I have accomplished much and completed many outfits for the new dolls. I need to sew now, I have so many pieces of fabric laying around in my studio it looks like a fabric shop. :)
    Hugs,
    X

Me encanta.

  4. I think it is well worth crowling on the floor, Calina looks so adorable!! ^^ I love that little crochetted top you've created, cute! You have been practising crochetting and wow, good job! :) Calina is so fresh and happy with her new vest and her dress is so sunny and perfect!

I don't have much to tell from dolls at the moment, but I'm definitely trying my best to have some time with them during the weekend. Shift work is totally taking a toll on me. I'm still very happy to read what others have done with their dolls, that's always interesting. ^^

It was sort of funny, my hubby always tell me that next time he will take photos of me while doing ridiculous things for photos xDD
Sad to read about work, but I'm sending all good vibes! Be strong! And can't wait to see what you do for your dolls :D

Yeah, I know, but I don't have many places where to go. I'm too afraid of taking my doll and camera outside D:

Es medio feo el techo, pero en los ángulos correctos se veía interesante xD
