Should I Share? ~ Story Time

Hello everybody! Here it is time for another story! Today's is focused on Coco, as I want to keep working on my story. I think next post will be either a "10 facts" or "character questionnaire" for Venezia. Now that I have my urethane eyes (finally!!!!) I want to re-work everybody's profiles, even the tinies!

Anyways, I attempted to make a sort of diorama/house thing for Coco. This was a balcony attempt (Coco's back is facing her living room window)... so please, do have a little imagination xD Oh well... my terrible writing is under the cut.

Chapter 2: Should I Share?

The music was low, but it still filled the air, soothing her thoughts. Weekends where not her favorite time, as she greatly enjoyed her work… and the distraction from her own treacherous mind that it provided. The light was golden and it radiated from the big windows leading to the balcony. Granted, her apartment was a beautiful place, big and comfortable, but ever so lonely. She didn’t had any pets, no roommates, no cleaning personnel, so it was her all alone.

Coco raised her eyes and studied the living room. It was big and exquisitely decorated, with big windows that made the view even more impressive. It had a couch and small table near the entrance door, a dining table in front of her and a small two-part kitchen allowance right beside the window. The building was expensive, but the design was exactly what she wanted: simple, sleek but stylish… and neutral, without any decoration that may give a hint on the owner’s personality.

She looked down, and resumed chopping the tomato she was working on. It was the last piece missing on her Saturday lunch, and she pushed it to the main dish once she was finished. She discarded the cutting board into the dishwasher, without any interest of taking care of it before her meal, and grabbed served dish. Her head was already pounding with hunger, as she had skipped breakfast in a not-so-wise choice, so she walked around the allowance and directed herself into the balcony.

It was true, living on a tall building in centric Paris had a lot of perks, including a stunning view, but Coco found that having a weekend meal on the balcony was one of her favorite things. She left the dish on the coffee table she had already prepared with a glass, a bottle of white wine, and the cutlery, and sat herself on the couch, moving her planner to the side.

She sighed, it was too early to check on the schedule for the next week, so she simply poured a little drink into the glass cup, and allowed herself to relax for a moment. Although her apartment was several stories high, she could hear the city noise of a busy weekend. She had left the window half open, so the music was still audible and enjoyable.

Coco wasn’t sure how many minutes passed, but she relaxed. It was beautiful, sunny but not excessively warm, the wine had a top quality -she had to thank her manager Liam for that- and the food was edible… but something was missing, and she couldn’t quite point the finger at it.

Another sight left her mouth as she positioned the food on the table once again, and cleaned her hands with a carefully plaid napkin. She turned to the side, grabbing her planner on her hands, and opened it. A small chuckle left her with a slight smile as she saw the cute stickers and drawings decorating the front page. She never took that thing outside her apartment, but she was addicted to decorating it, writing motivational quotes on curly typography and filling its pages in the old-fashioned way. At least it added a different perspective to the monotony of her days.

The new year was young, but she stopped in the first pages, gazing at January. She had thought of writing something to Chanel, her sister, but she didn’t do it in the end… the blonde was probably busy with College, and she would certainly be annoying her. They haven’t spoken in what felt as ages ago for Coco, and the model was not sure of how to restart that bond. Maybe Chanel was busy, and she surely had friends and maybe a significant other…

She moved her head, hoping her thoughts would go away, and started to turn the pages until she reached the current week. Her schedule was full, as always. Among all the obligations she frowned at the event she had to attend on Tuesday night… those things were terrible, but at least she enjoyed dressing up for them. Coco passed her fingers through the days, reading carefully each appointment, in order to not forget anything.

However, she stopped on Thursday morning: a photoshoot in MOMO. It was for the new outfits of the Cocktail Attires line, but she will have to pose with a newcomer, who would be making her trial photoshoots. The girl was probably going to be really nervous, so she made a mental note that the shoot may go on for longer than expected. It wasn’t the first time she had photoshoots with newcomers, and she remembered her time as a newbie very well, so it was not in her nature to be mean to this person.

She closed the planner, left it aside, and finally took the dish on her lap, and started eating. She remembered her first photoshoot, and how Kajsa had invited her to get a drink together after the shoot. Coco was so nervous! Granted, Kajsa was not one of MOMO’s Dolls by that time, but she was more experienced and certainly intimidated a younger Coco. They weren’t friends, but they surely get along well when working.

“This rice is so good” she murmured to herself, although still focused in her times as a starting model. Maybe that was the issue. She dropped the fork, and glanced back to her apartment: it was too big for her alone. And at work, she had coworkers, at events she had acquaintances… but never a friend.

Maybe, she thought, she should try to find a roommate. She didn’t need help paying the apartment taxes, as she owned it, but maybe… she shook her head. A roommate was a person, a living human, it was not a pet.

“Maybe I should get a pet too” she said, in a normal voice, as if it was a realization. However, a doubt remained. Where would she advertise the apartment, if she wanted to get a roommate? She didn’t even knew where to start!

Coco noted that her back had become stiff while thinking, so she relaxed again. She left the food in favor for another sip of wine, and continued to enjoy her Saturday brunch. Now she had a lot of things to ponder.

I must say I'm quite happy with these photos! I made the planner prop by myself, and I lost the count of how many times I punctured my fingers while making the spirals go through the pages! I know it is not much, but I'm happy with how it looks. Also, I managed to take these photos in M mode, when I usually use A mode... a little progress is something. Also, my mom made that stunning lace for the scarf and the belt! She is so talented!

Anyways, if you have any advice to improve my writing, feel free to tell me! And how are you doing? Any dolly news? Before I go, let me share with you a close up on Coco's new eyes: Garodoll 12mm Light Blue urethanes! I love these so much, I'm definitely purchasing from her again!.

  4. Coco's mind and wondering makes me want to know more. I can feel with her - when one is alone, the mind really goes wandering. You write well and capture this is a very nice way. So, it is far away from bad writing!! Thumbs up, keep on writing!

I love the photos! Good work with the planner prop! I can imagine that your fingers got a bit hurt with those spirals! :)
