Happy Birthday Merry!

It is unbelievable, but today is Merry 2nd birthday! She arrived out of pure surprise, since she was a gift, and I couldn't be happier with her.

I had to confess that I always struggle with her outfits and colors. There are so many colors I don't like on her, that I ended up making this outfit twice, in different fabrics... I need to thanks my hubby for rescuing me a suggesting a good combination!

I have another funny anecdote, but I will share it after the story is done, so I won't "spoil" anything. Anyways, hope you enjoy! You can click the photos to enlarge them!

Poor Merry! As a tooth fairy, coins are one of her weaknesses! Let me share a trivia: I do have a small collection of coins, and (besides the candies) I used coins from the following countries: Chile, Mexico, South Africa, New Zealand and Italy. I have more, although most of them are old currencies (for example, I have cruzeiros, the old Brazilian currency!).

Also, the anecdote I told you! I originally had no clue of what to do for Merry's birthday, until I suddenly remembered these chocolate candies that came with a coin shape. But I had only saw them in one and only one store. Wasn't that hard, right? Get to the store, grab the candies... only that store was closed, and I asked in like 5 more, and they were all "it is summer, we don't sell chocolate". What to do? I asked my dad xD Poor guy. I don't know where -nor how many stores he checked- but he came to my house on Thursday with a bag of the chocolate coins!! They were ridiculously expensive, though, but oh well.

And then... how to make Merry "eat" the coins? Picture me giving my hubby a coin and we were like: "Make a small bite, here" *me points, hubby carefully bites the chocolate* "Okay, one more, here!" *Another bite* xD Then I had to peel off the coins, and store them in a tupper in the freezer (it is summer with 45ºC, they would melt otherwise). Poor husband had to make the sacrifice of eating the chocolate xD

Anyways, thank you for reading, and I hope you have enjoyed this! Have an awesome weekend!

  2. Oh gosh, your poor husband having to eat all those chocolates. He must be so upset. ;)
That's so sweet of your dad to find the coins for you. <3 The effort was well worth it, these photos came out wonderfully!

(As an aside, I collect coins too! They're so interesting, especially the old ones that are no longer in use. :D I've been trying to collect a (<50¢) Canadian coin from every year for the past while ^^)

    1. Yes, poor my husband xD And yes! I still don't know where he got them, but I was super happy he did :D

I didn't knew you had coins too! I hadn't attend to my collection is a while, so I haven't had any new additions besides some special domestic releases, though. That idea of a 50c coin from each year is great!

  3. How adorable! I looove chocolate coins x3 one of my favs! Odd how they don't sell chocolate in summer? Here they do sell it all year around but they store some kinds in a fridge in the supermarket!

Such a funny story, and I'm sure your husband made a worthy 'sacrifice' XD!

    1. A lot of stuff is not sold in here during summer, either because they don't produce it, or distribution centers close their door during a whole month =S I agree with you, they should use fridges and switch personnel, but oh well.

Happy you liked the interview! :D

  6. Que lindo!! Felicidades a Merry!!

  7. Happy Birthday Merry! What a lovely day she had Musume, thanks for sharing her day with us. I haven't seen any of those chocolate coins for years, but I loved eating them when I was a kid. Hope eating all that chocolate didn't give hubby a tummy ache . . . what a trooper he is. :)
    Hugs,
    X
