Repainting Nyx!

Back in December I was day-dreaming with repainting Nyx. She was the first one I painted that kept its faceup, and she was quite dull: her colors had faded away, and she was pale in comparison to Aion or Theros. I had two cans of Testors, but one of them was unopened and I wanted to keep it that way so I could sell it!

So... talking to my mom she convinced me to go ahead. And I managed to repaint Nyx with half a can of Testors! I am really happy with how she turned out: her galaxy theme is so vibrant right now! Here is a process video, though I still fail in painting near the center of the camera zone.

Oh well, I hope you will enjoy this! Here is the video, and pics are under the cut!

And here we have some pics from Nyx after being painted! I love how vibrant she is looking now!

I do hope to get back to painting dolls soon! I would love to get more dragons, paint them, sell some and gift others as well! Anyways, I wish you the best. Have a great day!!

  1. I love Nyx's new look--you did a beautiful job! You inspire me to repaint my resin Pico Ashes, who has always looked pale and unfinished. Even though I also use pastels, pencil and bit of acrylic paint on my face-ups, they never look as vibrant as yours. I wonder if it's easier to work on plastic than on resin?

    1. Thank you so much!! Your Ashes is adorable, but repainting the dragons is so much fun!! I don't know, I only painted resin once. I think it depends on how much you layer the pastels, and how much tooth your sealant has. Also, if you spray up close the face of the doll, you will "wipe" the pastels with the spray D:

  2. Fabulous job Musume, he looks so handsome now. Your video made it all seem so easy, but it's not like that for everyone. :) What do you find easier to work on, vinyl, plastic or resin? And what are your favourite materials, pastels, pencils or paints?
    Big hugs,

    1. Thank you!! I only painted resin once, honestly. I think that resin can have more tooth, but it all depends on your sealant, in my opinion. But I'm not the most experienced "doll repainter", so take my opinion with a grain of salt, please!

  5. Love her new look, she looks so sparkly and vibrant. At first I thought the white tiny spots where glitter! :)

No, the spots are stars, but I'm quite happy that you thought it was glitter!
