I got some FIMO Effect back when customs were working properly at the beginning of the year. When I opened it was all crumbly and hardened, so I hope to restore it. I was suggested water and/or baby oil... I don't dare going somewhere to buy a baby-themed product (I'm childfree), so I guess unless someone buys it for me, I'd have to try with water.
Oh well, crumbly or not, I spent hours kneading some FIMO Glow, until it was manageable. I made some ghost masks, but (surprise!) I burned the first set in the oven. The second set was done perfectly in less than 4 minutes. Anyways... check the photos and lore, and I'll tell you about how I did the photoshoot at the end.
Lore: Halloween Ghosts
Halloween is a very special time for Dragons. Especially for Nyx and Aion, as their roles’ importance is highlighted during this time of the year. Faeries often take care of tombstones that represent Elder Fairies or other magical animals, and decorate them with pretty stones. However, there is some magic involved in this ritual.Once a year, the energy of those beings is summoned back to the Faery Settlement, and they chase Aion and Nyx during days. They are shades with all their energy enclosed in a mask; each shape and mask is unique, as everyone is a different being. They often ask for either a second chance to live, or a chance to join the energy of the world. Other dragons cannot get involved in this situation, and often hide from the energies manifestations.
Nyx is often soft-hearted and allows them another lifetime; if she removes their masks gently from them, they will join the faeries and magic beings again, starting a new life without knowledge of the previous one. However, Aion is harder to convince. As a result, many manifestations haunt him during years, offering him gifts and skills, to convince him to shatter their masks to transform them into something different, that is part of the universe itself.
However, faeries are completely oblivious to this event.
And they glow!! I turned all lights out, closed all windows, and grabbed a huge coat my husband has and covered myself and the diorama setting... like in old cameras, you know? Then, I grabbed my phone, turned out its flash-lantern, and hold it in front of the ghost masks to "charge" them. I spent two minutes around, and shooted 2~3 photos. Rinse and repeat! It took me around an hour and half to make this photoshoot, but the glow was amazing!!
And... do you know why Theros had to hide? I made this at late July, and her eyes hadn't arrived yet, so I had to come up with something to make her be part of the story, without showing her butt to the camera all the time.
Anyways, I hope the ghosts didn't scare you and that you like the story! I like writing this fantasy world, because it is very different to my own views. And that makes it fun! I hope you are having a spooky and sweet Halloween. I'd have a funny story for the next weekend.
