Halloween Midnight ~ Short Story

It is time for another story!! This took me a little to get done because I had to make the pajamas, and also tons of props, as all the candies and bakery stuff I had were made in 1/8 size for my tinies... so Coco and Venezia required more props. I made all the goodies in cold porcelain, and for the boxes I purchased a template from Nerea Pozo and re-scaled it to 1/4, and also used some freebies from the internet.

I hope you will like this short chapter, and special thanks go to Daggry_Saga who helped me beta-reading this, as I was a little unsure of some bits. Anyways, have a photo here, and we will start under the cut!

Chapter 13: Halloween Midnight

Coco stared blankly at the options before her eyes. They were all equally tempting: perfect look, amazing packaging, and an alluring smell. Even more, she already knew that bakery made astounding pastry of any type. As she pondered her first choice, she moved her right index to her lips. The blueberry macaroons looked adorable and were a marvel, but the strawberry croissants and donuts looked simply too good. After what she thought was eternity, she selected a croissant and served it on her own dish.

It wasn’t until that moment that she realized two things. First, she has done everything while keeping her finger on her mouth, and second, Venezia was staring at her. Their eyes met for a second, and Coco felt the heat rushing through her cheeks after being caught up lusting over pastry in Halloween’s night. Immediately, she removed the finger from her mouth, and fixed her eyes on her dish, feeling terribly ashamed.

Venezia was instantly worried. If she was honest to herself, she found Coco’s lust for good-looking pastry cute. But that finger? It made her recognize that she envied it. She had always felt attracted to Coco but if there was a worst time to acknowledge it, it was this. Of course, she would not act on it… unless the other model would. But that was a thought for another moment. She attempted her best to smile, and then selected two macaroons for herself. After all, she had not tasted them before.

“It is weird to be eating pastry in pajamas, near midnight, after having such a fancy MOMO party” confessed Venezia, biting her macaroon. Coco nodded and relaxed, picking the strawberry with a pastry fork, and eating it with clear satisfaction.

“True, but I’m sure you were dying to get out of that costume!” replied Coco, and her friend laughed while chewing on a blueberry macaroon, forcing her to cover her mouth. “You looked great, but I’m sure you were dying to get out of that skirt!” she added, and Venezia nodded while finishing her bite. For some reason, that image was too funny and Coco started laughing as well. They laughed until their bellies hurt and they ended up pointing at each other, restarting the whole situation a couple of times.

As soon as they calmed down, Coco bit the remains of her croissant, and moved towards two donuts: a regular one, and a strawberry. Venezia looked at her, and smiled tenderly. Coco looked completely different devouring pastry while dressed in a panda pajama, entirely relaxed and without bending her back and posing.

“You should try the donuts!” said Coco, pointing towards a pink one, while still chewing on hers.

Venezia didn’t know how to answer. She barely nodded and turned to the pastry boxes, after giving a Coco a napkin while pointing towards her mouth. As soon as she finished selecting the specified donut, she turned again. Coco was offering her the napkin back, but she dismissed it and left it on the table, attempting to concentrate on her dish.

“No silly! You have cream in your nose!” Venezia crossed her eyes in a vain attempt at watching her own nose, but after a couple seconds, she felt dizzy and discarded the idea. Coco was shaking her head, smiling; she took the napkin once more and offered it to her friend. “Just use the thing already!” And the dark-skinned model did, dragging the cream all over her nose. By this time, Coco could not hold her laugh, and had to close her eyes, leaving her dish on her lap.

“Stop laughing!” said Venezia. But Coco refused to behave, increasing the brunette’s frustration. As a revenge, and because -for once- Coco was bare-faced without make up, she dipped her finger on the pink topping of her donut, and pushed it to Coco’s nose. The model opened her eyes, stunned and amazed. “Now we are even” explained Venezia, but regretted it instantly. Judging by the face of the other model, she was sure she had just trespassed Coco’s boundaries. She was ready to apologize, when Coco deliberately dragged the topping on her nose. “No… now we are even!” she said, laughing, and moving her dish to the front and up, as if toasting with the remains of her donut.

“You look ridiculous!” refuted Venezia, still amazed at her friend’s behavior. “Probably not worse than you!” the other woman answered, picking more cream, and pushing it to Venezia’s nose. “Stop frowning! We should be celebrating!” she added. The statement shocked her. She looked down to her dish, but didn’t realize the silence that had overcome the room. She looked at her hands, the dish, the pastry… she never thought that she would be sharing an apartment with a roommate, having fun and… just being friends, without any other conflict.

“Thank you” she finally said, and Coco questioned with her eyes. “For this. For being a friend” she confessed. Coco nodded, turning towards the table.

“To you” she mumbled, ashamed to admit that she was extremely happy.

And this was all for today! I hope you enjoyed this! I'm trying to make the chapters shorter, so that you don't get bored while reading. Also, do you like the images in the middle of the story, or prefer it all at the beginning and end? Do let me know, and here is to hoping you are having a spooky Halloween full of traits!

  1. So many goodies, and they all look too good to eat! How will they keep their model figures if they keep this up? I hate to admit it, but reading this has made me hungry for something fattening. And I've already had dinner! :D

I do like seeing photos throughout the story, best when they are near the part of the story that relates to the photo.
