Theros ~ Character Info

Well, Theros eyes took its sweet time to arrive, and then I already had posts planned (you know, I schedule posts months ahead, just to be sure that if something happens, I can still post something on my blog).

So here it is, finally! Theros proper introduction and backstory! The gorgeous eyes are from ShrikeAesthetics, and they are perfect! I knew I wanted rainbows for a character as soon as I saw them for the first time. I want to be crystal clear when I say that my issues and delays were because of customs and NOT because of the artist. She even shipped an extra pair of eyes for free to me... and those were the ones that arrived. The original pair is still MIA at customs.

THEROS

Name Origin: Nyx Theros was one of the Greek Horae, which represents seasons and natural portions of time.

Birth Place: Dragons are not born. They are the manifestation of a certain energy. Theros represents summer and fire, but she is also the raw power and the expansion.

Age: Unknown. Dragons are as old as the universe and the magic itself.

Race: Dragon.

Birthmarks: Her body is made of fire flowers. Sometimes, some Elder Fairies would swear that the flowers become fire when she gets angry. Also, she has the alchemical symbol of fire made of sunshine on her forehead.

Pronouns: As dragons are actually energy, they do not have genders. However, as fairies use human languages to communicate, which are usually gendered, they tend to assign a pronoun to each dragon, in order to talk to them. Theros is often addressed as “she”.

Occupation: In the fairy settlement, dragons are usually safekeepers. They are in charge of a magic vault, and store different treasures. Some of them are material, but they are mostly magic. However, fairies also tend to ask them to protect things they are fond of.

Personality: Theros is usually happy and carefree, but curious as nobody else. She loves meddling, checking stuff and everything picks her attention. She is attracted to the texture of different materials, so she loves to touch and put her paws on everything.

Negative traits: Sometimes, when she gets too excited, her flowers become fire and she burns everything she touches. She is also careless and childish.

Positive traits: Her enthusiasm is unique, and she is able to work non-stop for as long as required, until something is done. She always think of other beings as innocents at first, and hates judging them for what they took from -or didn’t report to- the vault dragon’s keep.

Special traits: Dragons do not talk… at least, not in human language. They communicate with fairies by transmitting emotions and knowledge directly to their mind; they do this by manipulating their own energy to convert it to magic.

Magical traits: She can call upon the sun to create sunshine whenever she wants. Light follows her and Theros can manipulate it at will. Some Elders are sure that she is able to fly as fast as the light, because she tends to appear out of nowhere.

Other’s opinion: Most fairies think of her as the younger one of the dragons, but she is actually the eldest of the “season” dragons. However, she likes that confusion as she feels it takes weight out of the Autumn dragon, Poron.

Temperament: Her joy, happiness and carefree always stick to nearby fairies, and they always feel better after she has been near them.

Favorite food: She doesn’t care for human food, as dragons do not need to feed from that type of rations. However, she enjoys going to the human world to stalk pastry chefs: she loves to see their joy when their work is complete.

Hobby: She has some secrets… but nobody has ever managed to find out where she spends her free time. Maybe she is just too fast for them.

Fears: Water. She is aware that is a cycle that contributes to life and death itself, but she prefers to bath in sunshine rather than using water.

Habits: She always wakes up and looks at the sky. Inevitable, even if it is cloudy, a ray of sunshine will peek from the clouds to greet her.

And this is all for today! Now all my dolls have pretty and structured backstory posts, so I'm really happy about this! Theros is a cutie, and I hope to add more dragons to my crew. And a Beagle Baskerville with my tinies! Hahaha, plans, plans! Anyways, have a great day!!

  1. ^__^ Theros is super cute and those flowers, I'm sure they're pure fire when she's either angry or exited, loving this story of her. You're very much filled with imagination and magic yourself when you create these stories. Lovely introduction! ^__^

In Finnish language there's no he or she, there's only one genderless word for it and that's "hän". I like it that your your little dragons can be what they want to be.

    1. Thank you so mcuh!! I'm really happy that you like the story :D
Many languages have gendered pronouns, or force gender into words, like Spanish. But if they are energy, that does not have gender! I'm so glad you liked that bit as well!

  2. So much great information. I love cute little Theros--and her new eyes are spectacular! How on earth did you create that magical background? Is it a sheet of holographic paper that has been enlarged until it is out of focus? It looks like she is sitting on the surface of the sun itself.

    1. Thank dear!! That background is actually a glitter foam that is A4-sized. I just used a huge aperture in my 50mm lens so that the glitter would turn into bokeh. As the glitter is really small, this was quite easy to achieve :D

All my dragons have similar backgrounds on their profiles!
